How do I buy Bitcoin into the BTC Vault?

You can buy Bitcoin with LKR and receive it directly in your BTC Vault wallet.

BTC Vault is designed for holding Bitcoin and making on-chain transfers. Since it uses the Bitcoin on-chain network, purchases may take longer to complete and may include a higher network fee than BTC Pay purchases.

Is Bitnomi a peer-to-peer marketplace?

No. Bitnomi is not a peer-to-peer marketplace.

When you place a buy order, you deal directly with Bitnomi. Bitnomi provides the quotation and bank details, verifies your payment, and sends the Bitcoin to your BTC Vault wallet.

You do not need to find, contact, or trade with another user.

How do I start a BTC Vault buy order?

You can start from either of these places:

• Open BTC Vault and tap Buy

• Tap Buy in the bottom navigation and select BTC Vault

If this is your first buy order, Bitnomi will show a short walkthrough. You can view it again later by tapping the help icon in the top-right corner.

How do I enter the amount?

1. Enter the amount you want to buy in LKR or BTC.

2. Check that the amount is within the allowed limits.

3. Review the quotation shown by the app.

BTC Vault has a higher minimum purchase amount than BTC Pay because an on-chain network fee applies.

The exact minimum and maximum amounts will be shown in the app before you continue. If the amount is above the allowed limit, the app may ask you to contact Bitnomi through WhatsApp.

What is included in the quotation?

The quotation shows:

• The amount of Bitcoin you will receive

• The current exchange rate

• The Bitnomi fee

• The on-chain network fee

• The approved bank account used for payment

You can tap the information icon to view the fee breakdown.

The exchange rate is valid for 30 seconds.

Why can the BTC Vault fee be higher?

Bitcoin purchased into BTC Vault must be delivered through the Bitcoin on-chain network.

The network fee can vary depending on:

• Current Bitcoin network activity

• The fee rate used for the transaction

• The size of the on-chain transaction

Always review the total fee and the final amount of Bitcoin you will receive before confirming the order.

What happens if the quotation expires?

The 30-second timer continues while you review the order.

If the quotation expires:

• You cannot continue using the expired rate

• A Refresh button will appear

• The app will fetch a new exchange rate and recalculate the amount and fees

Review the updated quotation before continuing, as the Bitcoin amount or network fee may have changed.

How do I place the order?

1. Review the Bitcoin amount, exchange rate, fees and payment method.

2. Tap Confirm and Continue to lock the rate.

3. Read and accept the terms and conditions.

4. Tap Place Order.

Once the order is placed, you have 15 minutes to complete the bank transfer.

Which bank account should I use?

You must make the bank transfer from the bank account approved and linked to your Bitnomi account.

The correct bank account will be shown during the buy flow. Check the account details carefully before making the payment.

Using a different bank account may require additional verification and could delay or prevent your order from being completed.

How do I make the payment?

The app will show the Bitnomi bank details required for the LKR transfer.

Make the payment using the approved bank account linked to your Bitnomi account.

After completing the transfer:

1. Return to the Bitnomi app.

2. Tap I have made the payment.

3. Your order status will change to In progress.

Using another bank account may result in additional verification and delay your order.

What happens after I make the payment?

The Bitnomi team will review your payment.

You will receive an update through the Bitnomi app and email.

How long does it take to receive Bitcoin?

BTC Vault purchases can take longer than BTC Pay purchases.

After Bitnomi verifies your bank payment, the Bitcoin must be sent through the on-chain Bitcoin network. The transaction may remain pending until it receives the required network confirmations.

Confirmation time can vary depending on:

• Bitcoin network activity

• The network fee rate

• How quickly the payment is reviewed

A pending on-chain transaction does not necessarily mean the order has failed.

How do I track my buy order?

You can follow the real-time progress of your buy order from the transaction details page.

1. Open your transaction history.

2. Find the BTC Vault buy order you want to track.

3. Tap the transaction entry to open its details.

4. Select the Updates tab.

The Updates tab shows the latest progress of your order, including payment review, on-chain processing, network confirmation, completion, cancellation, or requests for more information.

You can also check the transaction details to view the on-chain transaction status after the Bitcoin has been sent.

What happens if I do not pay within 15 minutes?

The order will be cancelled automatically.

You will need to start a new buy order and request a new quotation. The exchange rate and network fee may be different when you create the new order.

What if the Bitnomi team is unavailable?

You can still enter an amount and view a quotation.

However, you will not be able to place the order while the Bitnomi team is unavailable. An alert and a Contact Support option will be shown in the app.

What should I check before buying into BTC Vault?

Before confirming the order, make sure you understand that:

• BTC Vault has a higher minimum purchase amount than BTC Pay

• An on-chain network fee applies

• Network fees may change

• Delivery may take longer because confirmations are required

• On-chain transactions cannot normally be reversed once sent

• BTC Vault is better suited for holding Bitcoin and larger or less frequent transfers
