Why should I never share my OTP, PIN or recovery phrase?
Your OTP, PIN, and recovery phrase protect different parts of your Bitnomi account and wallet.
Sharing any of them could allow someone to access your account, approve transactions, or take control of your Bitcoin.
What does each one protect?

Why should I never share my OTP?
An OTP is a one-time verification code sent to your phone or email.
A scammer may ask for it while pretending to:
Help you sign in
Verify your account
Fix a problem
Confirm a payment
Represent Bitnomi Support
Sharing your OTP could allow someone to complete an action using your account.
Why should I never share my PIN?
Your PIN is used to sign in and approve sensitive actions in Bitnomi.
Someone with your PIN may be able to access your account or confirm a transaction if they also have access to your device.
Do not:
Tell your PIN to another person
Write it where others can see it
Enter it while someone is watching
Use an easy-to-guess number
Why is my recovery phrase especially important?
Your 12-word recovery phrase is the backup for your Bitnomi wallet.
Anyone who has it may be able to recover your wallet on another device and move the Bitcoin in both BTC Pay and BTC Vault.
Unlike an OTP or PIN, your recovery phrase cannot simply be reset after it has been exposed.
Will Bitnomi ever ask for these details?

Social media
Email
Phone or video calls
Screen-sharing sessions
Anyone asking for these details while claiming to represent Bitnomi, including someone claiming to be the CEO or a team member, should be treated as a scam.
Do not engage. Report and block them immediately.
What should I do if I shared my OTP or PIN?
Act quickly:
Stop communicating with the person.
Change your Bitnomi PIN.
Secure your email account and phone number.
Review your transaction history for activity you do not recognise.

What should I do if I shared my recovery phrase?
Treat your wallet as compromised.
Move your Bitcoin to a newly created wallet with a new recovery phrase as soon as possible. Do not continue using the exposed recovery phrase.
Bitnomi cannot prevent someone with your recovery phrase from accessing your wallet.
