How do I receive Bitcoin the on-chain network?
You can receive Bitcoin through the Bitcoin on-chain network directly into your BTC Vault wallet.
On-chain payments are best suited for standard Bitcoin transfers and larger or less frequent transactions. They usually take longer than Lightning or Spark payments because they must be confirmed on the Bitcoin blockchain.
How do I open the on-chain receive screen?
You can open it in either of these ways:
Open BTC Vault and tap Receive
Tap Receive from the home page. This opens the Lightning receive screen first. Tap the network option at the bottom of the screen, then select BTC on On-chain
You will then see your Bitcoin on-chain address and QR code.
How do I receive an on-chain payment?
Open the Bitcoin on-chain receive screen.
Bitnomi will show your Bitcoin address and QR code.
Tap Copy to copy the address, or tap Share to send it through another app.
Ask the sender to use the Bitcoin on-chain network.
Wait for the transaction to be confirmed by the Bitcoin network.
Once confirmed, the Bitcoin will be added to your BTC Vault balance.
How do I copy or share my Bitcoin address?
To copy the address:
Tap Copy.
The address will be copied to your clipboard.
Bitnomi will show a confirmation message.
To share it:
Tap Share.
Choose an app or sharing method from your device.
Send the address to the payer.
Use the Copy, Share, or QR code options instead of typing the address manually.
How long does an on-chain payment take?
An on-chain payment may take around 10 minutes to receive its first confirmation, but the actual time can vary.
Confirmation time depends on:
Bitcoin network activity
The fee paid by the sender
How quickly the transaction is included in a block
A pending transaction does not necessarily mean the payment has failed.
What happens after the sender makes the payment?
Once the transaction is detected:
It will appear in your transaction history
Its status may remain pending while waiting for confirmation
Your BTC Vault balance will update after the required confirmation
You will receive a notification when the payment is credited
What happens if the sender uses the wrong network?
The sender must use the Bitcoin on-chain network.
A Bitcoin on-chain address cannot be used for Lightning or Spark payments. Using the wrong network may cause the payment to fail or result in permanent loss of funds.
Always tell the sender to use the Bitcoin on-chain network before sharing the address.
What happens if the address is wrong?
Invalid address: The sender’s wallet should prevent the payment.
Wrong but valid address: The Bitcoin may be sent to another wallet and may not be recoverable.
Address changed while copying: The funds could be sent to the wrong destination.
After copying or scanning the address, compare the first and last few characters before the payment is sent.
Can I reuse my Bitcoin address?
Use the address currently shown in Bitnomi when receiving a payment.
For better privacy and to reduce mistakes, generate or share a fresh address whenever the app provides one.
