How do I send Bitcoin from the BTC Vault?

You can send Bitcoin from BTC Vault to a standard Bitcoin address through the Bitcoin on-chain network.

BTC Vault is best suited for larger or less frequent transfers. On-chain transactions may take longer to confirm and usually include a network fee.

Which network does BTC Vault use?

You cannot send Lightning or Spark payments from BTC Vault. Use BTC Pay for those networks.

How do I start a BTC Vault transaction?

You can start in either of these ways:

• Open BTC Vault and tap Send

• Tap Send on the home page, then select Bitcoin on-chain

If this is your first time using the Send flow, Bitnomi will show a short walkthrough. You can open it again later by tapping the help icon in the top-right corner.

How do I add the recipient’s address?

Enter or scan:

• A valid Bitcoin address

• A QR code containing a Bitcoin address

Bitnomi will check the address before allowing you to continue.

If the address is invalid, the app will show an Invalid address error.

How do I enter the amount?

Enter the amount you want to send using your selected Bitcoin unit, either BTC or SAT.

You can also tap Use Max to send the maximum amount available after the network fee.

The amount and network fee must both be covered by your BTC Vault balance.

What happens if my balance is not enough?

You will not be able to continue when:

• The amount exceeds your available balance

• The amount is available, but the amount plus network fee exceeds your balance

The app will show an error explaining that your available balance is insufficient.

Reduce the amount or add more Bitcoin to BTC Vault before trying again.

How does the network fee work?

BTC Vault transactions use the Bitcoin on-chain network, so a network fee applies.

The fee may vary depending on:

• Current Bitcoin network activity

• The selected fee rate

• The size of the transaction

A higher fee may help the transaction confirm sooner, while a lower fee may take longer.

Review the fee and estimated confirmation time before continuing.

What should I review before sending?

The transaction preview shows:

• The amount the recipient will receive

• The Bitcoin address

• The network fee

• The total amount deducted from your balance

• An optional note, where available

Check every detail carefully before confirming. On-chain Bitcoin transactions generally cannot be cancelled or reversed after they are sent.

What happens if the address is wrong?

• Invalid address: Bitnomi will prevent you from continuing.

• Wrong but valid address: The Bitcoin may be sent to the wrong recipient and may not be recoverable.

• Non-Bitcoin network address: The transaction may fail, or the funds could be permanently lost.

Confirm that the recipient has provided a valid Bitcoin on-chain address.

Avoid manually typing the address when you can scan or paste it. After scanning or pasting, compare the address before confirming.

How do I confirm the transaction?

1. Review the transaction details.

2. Tap Send.

3. Authenticate using:

   • Your Bitnomi PIN, or

   • Fingerprint or Face ID, if enabled

You have up to three authentication attempts.

If authentication fails three times, the transaction will be cancelled and the Bitcoin will not be sent.

What happens after I confirm?

After successful authentication, the transaction will appear as In progress while it waits for confirmation from the Bitcoin network.

How long does it take?

BTC Vault transactions may take longer than BTC Pay transactions because they require confirmation on the Bitcoin blockchain.

The exact time depends on:

• Bitcoin network activity

• The selected network fee

• How quickly the transaction is included in a block

A pending transaction does not necessarily mean it has failed.

How do I check the transaction?

1. Open your transaction history.

2. Find the BTC Vault send transaction.

3. Tap it to open the transaction details page.

4. Review the current status, fee and transaction details.
